Reaction Tap

Millisecond precision 5-round average Streak mode with decoys

Tap (or press Space) the moment the pad turns green. Tapping on red is a false start. In Streak, beat a shrinking time limit and never tap the blue decoy.

How to play Reaction Tap

Reaction Tap is a free reflex test you play in your browser. A big pad waits, then turns green. Tap it the moment it does. The game shows how many milliseconds you took.

The basics

Classic

You get 5 rounds. Your average time is graded, from Sleepy up to Lightning. A very fast average is under 180 ms. A typical phone tap is around 260 to 310 ms.

Streak

You start with 3 lives and a time limit of 500 ms. Beat the limit to clear a round. Each round the limit gets 18 ms shorter, down to 260 ms. Be too slow, tap too early, or fall for a blue pad and you lose a life. From the fourth round, the pad sometimes turns blue first. That is a decoy, so wait for green. The run ends when your lives are gone.

Your records

The game saves your best single tap, best average, best streak and number of runs. They stay in this browser. Nothing is posted anywhere. Under the pad, the Consistency Lens shows how much five taps can differ. It uses its own examples and never changes your records.
