How to play: shape the cyan wave until it covers the dashed gold target. Tap the buttons, or drag on the wave: sideways changes frequency, up and down changes amplitude. Each match adds time. From target 8 on, two waves add up (interference) and you tune both. Keys: arrows, 1-3 for shape, W to switch wave.

Freeze & probe

Capture a still copy of your waves to inspect how they add up. The copy stays fixed while you keep playing.

Capture your waves, then move the probe to read their displacement at a fixed time.

How to play Wave Maker

A gold dashed wave is the target. Shape your cyan wave until it sits on top of it before the clock runs out.

  1. Pick a shape: sine, square or sawtooth.
  2. Change the frequency, which is how many waves fit across the screen (1 to 6 in steps of 0.5), and the amplitude, which is how tall the wave is. Use the buttons, or drag on the wave: sideways changes frequency and up or down changes amplitude.
  3. The match meter shows how close you are. A hint appears after about 9 seconds on one target.
  4. Later targets are made of two waves added together. Add a second wave of your own in Free Play to see interference, where the waves add up peak to peak.

Time and scoring

You start Match mode with 45 seconds. Every match adds 5 seconds and a perfect match, made in no more than the target's par number of moves, adds 2 more, up to a 99 second cap. Skipping a target costs 5 seconds and breaks your combo. A match scores 100 plus 50 for each difficulty tier, plus up to 60 for speed, plus 50 if it was perfect, multiplied by your combo, which grows by 0.25 for each match in a row up to 3 times.
