Play War Cards: the classic card battle, with three ways to play
War Cards is the classic free card game for one player against the computer. You each turn over your top card, and the higher card takes both. There is no real strategy in the classic game, but this version adds a Tactics mode where you choose which card to play.
The three modes
- Quick. 26 flips. Tap the table or the Flip Card button. The higher card takes both. Whoever holds the most cards at the end wins.
- Tactics. You hold 3 cards and you see the CPU card first. Pick the card that wins cheaply, play a low card on an Ace, or match the CPU card on purpose to start a war. It lasts 20 plays and your score is the number of cards you hold. Holding 30, 36 or 42 cards earns one, two or three stars.
- Classic. The full game: keep flipping until one side holds all 52 cards. Turn on Auto to let it run by itself. Tap Auto again for double speed.
What happens in a war
If both cards are the same rank, it is a war. Each side puts three cards face down and one card face up. The higher of the new face-up cards wins the whole pile. A tie again starts another war. Face-down cards stay hidden, even in the review.
Review and saving
After a battle you can open Review last battle to look at both reveals and who took the pile. Your wins, losses, streak, biggest haul and best score for each mode are saved on your device in your browser, under war-cards:v1. There is no account and nothing to download.
