Spring Launch

Spring physicsTarget shootingPower gauge

Hold on the field (or hold Space) to compress the spring, release to launch. Land on the pad: gold centre scores most. 3 misses ends the run.

Power rehearsal

Test a power without using hearts. The pad is frozen at its current position for the preview; moving pads keep moving during live shots.

Set a power and test a shot. Rehearsal uses no hearts or score.

How to play Spring Launch

A spring on the left fires a ball at a fixed angle. You only choose how hard. Land the ball on the red, white and gold pad downrange.

  1. Press and hold the play field, or hold Space, to compress the spring. The power gauge fills from green to red.
  2. The gauge climbs and then bounces back down if you hold too long, so time your release. A white tick on the gauge marks your last shot.
  3. Release to launch. Wind, taller pads, walls and moving pads show up as the levels rise, so the same power will not always work.
  4. Use the Power rehearsal panel to test a power without spending a heart.

Scoring and hearts

The pad has three bands: red is worth 1, white 2 and the gold centre 3. Consecutive hits build a streak that multiplies the score, up to times 5. You start with 3 hearts, a miss costs one and breaks the streak, and a gold centre hit wins a heart back. When the hearts run out the run ends.
