How to play Short Deck
Sixes through aces. Flush beats full house; A-6-7-8-9 is a straight.
- Everyone starts with 1,000 free play chips. Each hand, two players put in forced bets before they see their cards: 5 chips and 10 chips (the blinds). The dealer spot moves around the table each hand.
- You get 2 private cards. Bet. Then the dealer turns up 3 shared cards (the flop), then 1 more (the turn), then 1 more (the river), with betting after each.
- You can bet any amount, up to all of your chips.
- The best five-card poker hand wins (made from your private cards and the shared cards). If two players tie, they split the pot.
Short Deck house rules: flush beats full house, straight beats three of a kind, and A-6-7-8-9 is the lowest straight. The deck has only 36 cards, sixes up to aces, so some hands are rarer than usual.
