Tap a light to flip it and its four neighbours. Turn every light off in par moves for 3 stars.

How to play Lights Out

You get a grid of 25 lights. Some are on. Your job is to turn them all off.

  1. Tap a light. It flips, and so do the lights right above, below, left and right of it. On is off. Off is on.
  2. Keep tapping until the whole grid is dark.
  3. Each board shows a par. Par is the fewest taps that can solve it. Hit par with no hint and you earn 3 stars. Finish within about 40% of par and you earn 2 stars. Anything slower earns 1 star.

Hints, undo and endless boards

Stuck? Press Hint and a light glows to tell you where to tap next. Using a hint means you can no longer get 3 stars on that board. Undo takes back your last tap. Restart puts the board back how it began.

There are 45 levels. Each one unlocks when you solve the one before it. Tap Endless for fresh, harder boards that need 11 to 15 taps. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move, Enter to tap, U to undo, H for a hint and R to restart.
